Dr. Elina Zakin is an Associate Professor of Neurology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, specializing in Neuromuscular Medicine and Medical Education. She directs the neuromuscular fellowship program and serves as associate program director for the NYU neurology residency – Brooklyn Track. Dr. Zakin trained at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her clinical work focuses on complex neuromuscular disorders, including EMG/NCS, neuromuscular ultrasound, and botulinum toxin therapy. She is passionate about facilitating smooth transitions for neurology trainees and empowering future leaders in the field. Dr. Zakin has received multiple awards, including Mount Sinai’s Resident of the Year, NYU’s Clinician Educator and Faculty Innovator of the Year, and the 2026 AB Baker Teacher Recognition Award by the AAN. Her workshop content was supported by the ABPN Faculty Innovation in Education Award (2022–2023).
